Korea Blockchain Week 2019: Navigating Blockchain for Students and Startups
October 2 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm KST
2019 Korea Blockchain Week is less than a month away and Bitcoin Center Korea along with her partners would like to host an event to support the further education and engagement of the bitcoin, blockchain, and crypto communities here in Seoul.
Many students studying blockchain technology here in Korea have questions on whether or not they can get a job in the industry after graduation. Specifically, what technologies should they learn, what skills should they adopt to make themselves marketable, and why?
The worldwide startup space needs technical and strategic talent to advance entrepreneurs’ visions, and bridging the gap between students and startup will help more entrepreneurs reach their goals.
Right now, students can learn before graduating what technologies and skills are needed directly from the startup community. Existing startups can better recruit and connect with future talent in the space who are already becoming adept at the new technologies entrepreneurs are currently exploring. This is where ‘Navigating Blockchain’ comes in.
The event is about existing educational, funding, and other opportunities in our industry. For students and startups, we wish to focus on presenting direct value to their resource and knowledge base. How can attendees participate in the blockchain technology space? What opportunities and threats are outstanding, and what is perhaps missing in terms of the technology or business models based on the unique view points of the speakers and the audience.
We want to provide examples of startups who’ve received funding from programs like MouseBelt University as well as organisations here in South Korea. For context, MouseBelt University is a program started in the U.S. and open to university student organisations around the world to learn about and actually build on blockchain technology before graduation (https://mousebelt.university/) In this, we aim to showcase the important connection between university student communities and startup communities here in Seoul and abroad.
